My Road to Direct Sales Success

I always wanted more control over my life and my income but it took becoming a mom for me to make that happen. I had gotten laid off while on maternity leave with my daughter, Jenna. I was a creative director at a successful pharmaceutical marketing company. The company was bought out by a large firm and they decided to let the top management go. Before they let me go, however, they had me train three others to cover my position. They later hired a man do my job at a much larger salary than I had been making. I had been with the company 14 years so, as you can imagine, I was devastated, especially with a newborn baby to take care of.

It was then that I vowed never to go back to corporate life. I wanted more freedom to be with my family, more money and in general more control over my life. If I could find something I loved it would be a wonderful bonus. I decided that starting my own business was the way to achieve all of that.

I entered the direct sales industry after that and tried every company imaginable to get by. I loved being a work-at-home mom and cherished my time with my daughter. I never wanted to leave her!

By December of 2011, I had been successfully working with another direct sales company for over eight years. I had grown my business and done quite well but I was getting burnt out. Then one of my neighbors left a Pink Zebra catalog at my house. I learned that Pink Zebra is a direct sales company specializing in home fragrance and décor that is unique and customizable. My daughter and I were hooked!

After my neighbor left, Jenna and I looked over the catalog. I had set it aside, not knowing that Jenna has circled the opportunity kit, like a kid circling her Christmas gifts. The next day Jenna begged me to buy the kit. The kits were on sale then so I figured for $74 I would get lots of candles and sprinkles. I didn’t really have any intentions of working the business. I was already in direct sales and wanted a break from all I had been doing. I had reached the top level in that business, Executive Director, but I was losing interest in the business.

Encouraged by Jenna, I ordered the Pink Zebra starter kit. While I was waiting for the kit to arrive, I was signing people up! Pink Zebra had a sponsoring incentive that month, and I was ready for a new challenge! Zebra fever was starting to take over!

When the kit did arrive, Jenna helped me get it organized. She took the kit with her on a trip to the coffee shop with her dad. That very day she came back with our first order! To this day that customer remains a client.

It is so very refreshing to be able to include Jenna in this family business. My previous direct sales business did not allow me to do that.

Pink Zebra has opened up so many avenues for me and my family. After seeing how easy it was to sign people on and get orders, I decided to work the business! In 9 short months, I became a Director! In fact, years later my husband decided to join the team and is now a Director with Pink Zebra. This is truly a family business for us.

I have always had an honest desire to make people happy. It’s never been just about the money for me. I love selling this amazing product and I love helping others with this amazing business opportunity. I’m very focused on the people I work with each day. For me, it’s all about an honest product and an honest opportunity to succeed.

I am currently in one of the top positions in Pink Zebra, Executive Director, and hold the title for most awarded in the company out of over 40,000 Consultants nationwide. I get to work with so many amazing men and women and help them build their businesses! I sell a product I love and help others gain control of their lives and feel better about themselves in the process.

To date, I’ve earned an iPad and trips for two to places like Punta Cana, Jamaica, Costa Rica and Panama. I’ve also already earned a trip for two to Cap Cana in the Dominican Republic next year.

I’m still learning and growing in my business. I hope I always will be. That’s the great thing about Pink Zebra. They give you endless opportunities to grow, learn and be recognized for your hard work.

I truly love being a part of Pink Zebra. It has been one of the best decisions I have ever made.
